Nature drowning

The meadow lush with flowers
A blue-green sea, luxuriant
With summer's beauty, blazing-bright
As twinkling stars at night enchant.
Like Wordsworth's host of daffodils
Or Monet's poppies red,
These bobbing blue heads catch the eye
And merge the living with the dead.
For all the life and richness here
We know it will not last
Renewing itself ad infinitum
We too will soon have been, and passed.
